Hello December! My absolute favorite time of the year. Holidays, Birth Month, and Christmas Decorating Galore! It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Wilson's! December always holds a special place in my heart since it's my birth month mixed in with the holidays. That's right! Capricorn here! My household celebrates Christ all year long so getting into the holiday spirit is very natural for us. I always start preparing for the holiday season around the first of November. The goal is to always have our tree up by Novemeber 1st. I usually spend the month of November decorating so that December itself is spent shopping and wrapping gifts.

Sage green and champagne were the color inspiration for our tree this year. Winter wonderland was the theme. Sage green and champagne were our wedding colors and has been my go to color this year. I also added silver and white to add some color contrast.
Christmas 2022 was the first year we opted for 9ft flocked pre-lit tree. I purchased it from my local at Home store after Christmas in 2021 for 50% off. Needless to say, I purposely purchased it after Christmas that year so that we would have it for the 2022 holiday season. The years prior, we had a traditional 6ft pine tree. While I do love a traditional tree, a flocked tree have become a staple in our household. It gives winter wonderland and adds an elegant touch to the decor. I love it so so much. My plan is to add another flocked tree to my home office for the next Christmas season.
After deciding the colors and style of this years tree, it usually sets the tone for the fireplace mantle. Last year, I decorated it with a traditional pine garland; however, this year I wanted the tree and the mantle to coordinate with each other. I found the most elegant 15ft artifical flocked garland from Walmart for $20. It completely transform the area and tied the tree and mantle together so nicely. I absolutely love it!

I simply added medium sized shiny and matte gold ornaments from Hobby Lobby and some ribbon from Walmart and boy did it give it the extra pop and style that I was going for!
The natural wooden lanterns with candles were already apart of my home decor so I usually just make them apart of my holiday decor year and year. They fit the athestic and style of my holiday decor and I dont see it changing any time soon. I also added acrylic rhinestone teardrop ornaments from Hobby Lobby to hang off the mantle to give it a beautiful illusion twinkling display off the frosted flocked branches. I went back and forth on whether or not I would remove the gold mirror above the fireplace and replace it with a large flocked wreath with gold ornaments but ultimately decided to keep the mirror in place. I am satisfied with how it turned out.
I have learned that investing in holiday pillows can easily transform your living room. My go-to store for purchasing festive holiday pillows is Bealls Outlet formerly known as Burkes Outlet! They have a great selection to choose from and they also carry down-filled pillows which was important to me to keep the designer look I love. I purchase every single one of my festive pillows there and at a great price. When I saw these floral gold printed down-filled pillows, I wanted them instantly. mostly because I love a good floral print. I purchased two and they are so soft and are great quality.

I purchased two inexpensive wall canvas art just for the holidays and may husband may or may not want us to keep them up year round. Haha! They are from Ross Dress for Less Home Decor section and were under $30 dollars. The sage green with gold foil and gold frames fit perfect with the color scheme for this year's decor.
Another beautiful pillow option was this festive piece also purchased from Bealls. I love it so much because it has the popular "Falalala" song lyric that we are all very familiar with front and center. It makes a statement the minute you see it. The sage green pillow pictured in this photo are also down-filled. In total, I purchased four to have for both the sofa and love seat. One side of the pillows are textured and other side of this pillow is sage green velvet! Therefore, it can easily be used both ways to created totally different design styles. One side gives textured and the other gives luxury.
The last festive pillow was purchased last year and I love the "Peace on Earth" along with the frosted selection of trees. I love anything with Peace as the focal point so I knew I had to have this one in particular. Both pillows created the ambiance that I was going for and blended really well with the rest of the holiday decor. It ultimately pulled everything together.
They were so many different options to choose from, from traditional to glam to rustic. I would highly recommend Bealls Outlet as a place to shop for your pillows
no matter the season.

One thing I love is a good dining room table setup. It brings so much joy to the holiday season with a nice table display for family and friends to enjoy. Let me start off by saying would you belive the dinnerware in this photo came from my local Dollar General and Dollar Tree? Yes, you heard me correctly. You do not have to overspend to create a festive dining room table.
I have always been a fan of mixing silver and gold together, so I continued that for my holiday decor. Here is a break down of where each item in this photo was purchased: the silver sparkling placemat was purchased from Dollar General and I purchased four for my round dining room table. The gold charger were purchased years ago from Dollar Tree. I also have silver charger plates that I purchased from Home Goods a few years back but opted for a gold contrast. The snowflake dinnerwear set were all purchased from Dollar Tree! I could not believe my eyes when I walked in and seen such a beautiful selection. So again, more of the story, you do not have to break the bank to get into the holiday spirit.
Now that we have seen most of the holiday decor, here is a picture of the actual tree.

Isn't she lovely, Isn't she wonderful? I love how it all came out. Seeing the fruits of my labor made it all worth it in the end. Now that we have seen the tree, here are some more photos of other hints of decor throughout other areas of our home.
Happy Holidays!!
