My Botanical Garden Inspired Bridal Shower

Updated: Nov 9, 2023

Live life in full bloom. That saying has been on my mind since the beginning of the new year. I have such a love for flowers so when it was time to choose a theme for my bridal shower, Botanical Garden immediately came to mind. My wedding colors were sage green, ivory, white, and champagne. Once I finalized the colors, now it was time to find a venue. After about a brief search, I chose The Tides Hotel, Orange Beach. They have the most incredible view of the Gulf of Mexico.

The first thing I did was set a budget. Then create a guest-list. For decor, classy and minimalistic is always the goal. I then created a list of all the must haves which included a welcome sign, lots of greenery, floral centerpieces, long floor length table linen, a balloon garland of some sort and I figured the rest would fall into place. With those items in mind and in that order, a few members of my bridal party and I went into action. After searching online, I eventually found the cutest floral welcome sign with florals from Amazon!

For the greenery, I wanted real flowers and faux flowers to create a realistic ambiance that would be felt throughout the room. So, again, I browsed online and found what I was looking for at my go-to store with was of course, Amazon! I found several different options of greenery but ultimately decided on a Eucalyptus Garland by Party Joy which came with in 6pcs.

The venue space was large enough to accommodate about 30 people, which included 5 round tables and 1 large farmhouse table.

As previously mentioned, I knew I wanted floral centerpieces and greenery on the round tables. I had previously heard a friend on the bridal party committee mention that Winn Dixie (which is really popular in the South and our area) floral department could possibly make them at a reasonable price. After speaking with them about my vision and the options they had, I decided on baby's breath mixed with greenery as centerpieces for the round tables. Below is an actual centerpiece arrangement that the floral department made for me prior to the event and beyond satisfied with the arrangement.

Now that the decision was my made on centerpieces, the search for linen for the round tables began. We found some of amazing quality for both the round and farmhouse table, both from Amazon.

Next up was deciding if I wanted to keep the chairs that the venue provided or rent some. Although, I loved the beach styled chairs, I ultimately decided that event styled new chairs would work best. I contacted a few vendors in the area and found this amazing rental company called Pelican Pete Party Rentals. Not only did they have exactly what I was looking for, they were also available on the date of the event. They had a few options but I chose the Gold Chivalry Chairs because it fitted the aesthetics and vision better.

Another one of my must haves was a balloon garland arch of some sort. I was fortunate enough to have one of my friends make it herself. She had all the materials and already knew how to make the arch. Balloons were ordered from Amazon in the theme colors.

As previously mentioned, the small round tables would have baby breath's centerpieces but I was unsure if the balloon garland would be placed on the large farmhouse table in the center of the room and that be the focal point of the room. We ultimately decided it was best to place the garland in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows and the farmhouse table would be open for decor.

I decided to call the same rental company back who would be providing the chairs and see what they had available for decor. I mentioned how I wanted the farmhouse table to be the focal point and the owner immediately went into action. I told her the theme and how much I loved florals and she sent me back a sample large floral arrangement for an event she had serviced. I absolutely fell in love with the centerpiece and knew I had to have two. We opted to place the large floral arrangements on tall gold stands and that be the first thing you see upon entrance into the room. It turned out to be the best decision.

With all of the major pieces for the decor planned, it was now time to add the small details. I wanted every detail to be symbolic to the floral theme. Here are the items I found on Amazon!

I purchased about 6 jars from my local Dollar Tree to place the floating candles in and add a touch of elegance to the decor.

Next up, it was time to decide on the menu selection. I wanted to bring a chef in that I was already familiar with but the venue stated that in order to book with them, you had to use their food and beverage. However, if there was something that wasn't on the menu, they would work with an outside vendor to have it made. Since my bridal shower started at noon, I opted for more of finger food or a brunch styled selection. The menu selection included the following;

Fresh Fruit Platter-featuring Seasonally Fresh Fruit, Possibly including: Pineapple, Honeydew, Cantaloupe, Strawberries, Blueberries, Blackberries, Raspberries, and Watermelon.

Taco Platter-Choice of: Carne Asada Taco-House Picked Red Onion & Jalapeño, Chipotle Creme Roasted Pork-Pineapple Salsa, Chipotle Cream, Cilantro Shrimp-Napa Cabbage, Cilantro Chicken-Napa, Chipotle Creme, Cilantro

Cheese Platter-Assorted Cheeses, Serve with Crackers and Local Honey

Deviled Egg Platter-House Made Deviled Eggs

Crab Cake Platter-House Crab Cakes, Made with Local Sources Blue Crab and Fresh Herbs

Pinwheel Platter-Featuring House Rolled Pinwheels with Ham, Turkey, Roast Beef, with Sliced Cheese, Spring Lettuce, Roma Tomato and House Made Roasted Garlic Herb Aioli

Drinks-Ice Tea and Lemonade Bar-Freshly Made Lemonade, Sweet and Unsweet Tea, Served with Sugar Alternatives and Ice Water

Desserts-Vanilla with Vanilla Buttercream Cake

For the dessert, I decided that cake would suffice, especially for my guest count. It was made by a company in Pensacola, FL called Blue Jay's Bakery. I sent an Inspo picture I found on Pinterest. The final look of the cake turned out to be everything I wanted and more!

For the itinerary, menu, gift table display, I created templates on Canva and took them to my local Office Depot. The process was so easy. Once you arrive to the store, you will be directed to the printing section of the store where you will be given an email to send your documents to. The printing itself took only 5 minutes.

Now that everything was planned and the food selection was made, the excitement about bringing it all together was imminent. Now lets see how it all came together!

For my outfit, I had my eyes on this jumpsuit months before the shower. Coincidently, it was stitched in florals, which went perfectly with the botanical garden theme for my shower. It was tailor made from the designer Fuoma Daniel.

I had some amazing favors to give out to my guest as a thank you for celebrating with me. Inside each gift bag were body oil, room spray, roll on perfume oil, and wax melts. The wax melts were customized with our engagement photo on top and are a personal favorite of mine. They smell so good and the aroma flows throughout your entire home. These favors were a gift to me from a friend from her very own company Candles and Creams. Log on to www.candlesandcreams.com to make a purchase. You can also check out her wax melts now live on Amazon at the link below:

I was so thrilled with how everything turned out. Seeing my vision come to life made everything worth it. And to see my family and friends made it complete.

I would like to thank everyone that was apart of the planning and The Tides Hotel, Orange Beach for letting me host my shower at their beautiful venue! The hotel and staff were very accommodating and professional and made sure all my needs were met. I definitely plan to visit again in the near future.
